We all know what happens when your form takes a dip and you have to deal with player injuries, especially big name and key player injuries. You find the press going into overdrive regarding speculation about who Chelsea are looking to sign and bring to the club and a whole host of names is being mentioned in the last few weeks and will continue to be until the end of the January window. It's my view that Chelsea won't be signing a single player as after all, last week Ancelotti confirmed he won't be.
The thing we all have to remember and to take into consideration is that in the next few weeks we will have everybody back fit apart from Alex. Ivanovic will just slot in next to John Terry which solves that problem and Bruma is there to act as cover. Once we have the core of our side back of Terry, Essien and Lampard we will have more than enough cover once again.
I can (like the rest of you) name our best eleven come the end of December and that is:
Cech, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Essien, Mikel, Lampard, Anelka, Drogba and Malouda with waiting in the wings: Ferreira, Bruma, Zhirkov, Ramires, Kalou and Sturridge. Note that this is also without Benayoun and Alex.
So if I were you I would ignore any press speculation about transfers in January. Carlo said at the beginning of the season that he had faith in our squad and once players are back from injury, I have no reason to feel any different.
