With Frank Arnesen confirming that he is to leave Chelsea after six years when his contract expires on 1st July there has been rumour and speculation about what is going to happen in relation to his replacement.
Reports have appeared stating that Chelsea are interested in Txiki Begiristain the former Barcelona Sporting Director which has been denied by Chelsea. There are reports of others being mentioned too but today a report has appeared that has got me thinking.
Will Chelsea even replace Arnesen and if they don't just how involved will Abramovich become in team affairs?
This report this morning appeared in the Telegraph stating that there are already people in place within our scouting network and at the Academy to deal with those area's and Gourlay and Buck could end up with more power in relation to player transfers etc.
However, I am just wondering about Roman. We need to remember the five year plan that was established to make Chelsea the biggest club in Europe and to win the League and the Champions League. It's now been seven years and currently our eighth and we have won the League three times, the FA Cup numerous times and the League Cup, the Champions League remains the one Roman longs for.
I just wonder if he will become much more involved in relation to communicating directly with Ancelotti to discuss future player targets etc or if with him becoming more hands on it could be a disruptive influence.
What do you people think?
Do you think Roman wants to become more involved and is it a good or bad thing?
