The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....

So here is the latest from around the web on Monday 26th July/Tuesday 27th July 2010 including: Mancienne to move?, Chelsea after ex-Barcelona sports chief Begiristain?, Chelsea given a boost by Brazilian Neymar, Paul Scholes tips Chelsea again this season as the biggest threat and Van Der Vaart claims he was mis-quoted.

First to Michael Mancienne. For the first time he has spoken out about the difficulties there are at Chelsea for youngsters to make the grade and has hinted that a move could be on the cards. He said:
"I've been at Chelsea since I was a kid and I'd love to break into the first-team, but it's hard for any young player knowing how much quality they've got, I've had two seasons on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers and had regular games and really enjoyed it. Now I want to be settled at one club."

Now to news of an approach by Chelsea to add to their exisiting backroom staff. Its being touted around that Roman Abramovich has made an offer to ex-Barcelona sporting chief Txiki Bergiristain. Bergiristain was the man who assembled the Barcelona squad of 2009 that won everything there was to win in the game and Roman wants him at Chelsea to in the same role giving him full control over transfer policy and coaching appointments.

May 02, 2010 - Sao Paulo, Brazil - SAO PAULO (BRAZIL), 02/05/10.- Santos player Neymar (R) fights for the ball with Al (L) of Santo Andre during their Sao Paulo's State Tournament final match played at Pacaembu stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 02 May 2010.

Now more on Brazilian wonderkid Neymar. It has been in the news for weeks now that Chelsea are interested in the player and Neymar has added fuel to the fire by refusing to commit his future to Santos. It's believed that Santos are holding out for £30m stated as a release clause in his contract but investors who own 40% of the player are keen for a deal to go through for the 18 year old. Chelsea have had a reported bid of £17m turned down but could go back with a higher offer to tempt Santos to sell. More on this to follow...

Now to Paul Scholes. He has spoken ahead of the new season of the biggest threat to Manchester United's title challenge this season and has stated it will be Chelsea again. He said:
“You have got to say Chelsea – and with the rest you just don’t know. Petr Cech and Didier Drogba are out at the start of season, but because there are internationals I don’t think they will miss them too much. Drogba should be back for the second game and Nicolas Anelka likes to play up front on his own anyway.

Finally to Rafael Van Der Vaart. As posted on the Drivel the other day he had been quoted about a possible move to Chelsea or Liverpool to find first team football. However, he has since spoken of the English press and how he has been mis-quoted. He said:
"I'm determined to stay at Real Madrid, I want to stay here and succeed at Real. It's a shame that the English press has misquoted me. They've written things that are simply not true."
