So as posted on here and in much of the sporting media yesterday and today, the CAS has lifted the ban on Chelsea after an settlement was reached between Chelsea and Lens over Gael Kakuta.
When the news originally broke, the press went to town on Chelsea with one journo even claiming that the fine that will be imposed on Chelsea should be more than the 17m Euros that Adrian Mutu was being chased after (now look whats happened to Mutu since!) and even Arjen Robben stuck the knife in claiming that there would be a "mass exodus" from Chelsea now from players who do not have a long-term connection with the club.
So I hope that people such as these are eating their words. The statement on the CAS website has said: "The CAS has noted that, in the agreement, the two clubs and the player have recognised that the contract between the two clubs and the player was not valid," CAS said. "Accordingly, the player could not have terminated it prematurely and without just cause."
So again its alot of fuss about nothing. There are rumours saying that Chelsea have paid lens a fee of approx £1m for the time he spent training with the French Club and that the two clubs have now improved their relations together which makes you wonder why they made a fuss in the first place.
Once more Chelsea have had to prove themselves once more to the media and the footballing world in general and have once again come up trumps. Chelsea were always confident that there wasn't any wrong doing and its nice to see its the case once more.
Now interestingly enough as soon as the news broke yesterday stories have broken about Frank Ribery again... isn't that strange since the ban has been lifted!
CAREFREE & KTBFFH EVERYONE!
