The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....

So here is the latest from around the web on Wednesday 30th June including: Joe Cole, Florent Malouda on Joe Cole, Rhys Taylor, Ashley Cole does himself no favours again, Real Madrid to bid for Ashley Cole? and David Silva officially snubs Chelsea!.

First this morning to Joe Cole and the speculation about his future. Ever since England were knocked out of the World Cup the press have really hightened their speculation as to who Joe will sign for. As reported on last nights Drivel, AC Milan had made their interest in Joe public and The Sun have picked up on this story this morning.

The Sun reports that Joe is to be offered a 3-year £9m deal to sign for AC Milan after Fabio Capello recommended Joe to his close friend Adriano Galliani. Its also reporting that Joe is open to a move abroad and that has also alerted Inter, Lazio and Juventus. With numerous clubs at home declaring an interest in Joe we will have to wait and see where he goes!.

Now to Florent Malouda and this time he has spoken of the departure of Joe Cole from Chelsea. He said:
"Joe has spent so many years at Chelsea, that it's really strange. I don't know why [he was allowed to leave], I think everybody enjoyed the way he was committed to the club.".

It seems that Malouda and the rest of the players feel the same way as we do!.

Mar. 15, 2010 - United Kingdom - Football - Chelsea Training - Stamford Bridge, London - 15/3/10..(L-R) Chelsea's Niclas Heimann, goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon, Rhys Taylor and Ross Turnbull during training.

Now more on Rhys Taylor (2nd from the right in the photo). Taylor has signed a two month loan deal with Crewe Alex and fellow keeper Steve Phillips who suffered with plenty of injuries last season has spoke of Manager Dario Gradi's intentions for Taylor. He said:
“Dario said if the Chelsea keeper plays well he will keep his place, and rightly so. It will be up to me to get him out and prove I am better than him. But if come September we are top of the league and he’s doing the business I’ll be over the moon.”

That's great news for Taylor, to have the trust of the manager and know you will start the season can only provide Taylor with confidence and let's hope he can build on that and play well. Good luck Rhys!.

Now to Ashley Cole and guess what he has done himself no favours again, and of course the press are quick to jump on his back this morning. Once again The Sun runs the story that Ash has text his mates about England.

The Sun's article goes on to explain that Ash had text his mates using his blackberry a few hours before he and the rest of the England squad headed home from South Africa. As you can imagine this will stir up more and more ill feeling towards Ash and it seems that this won't be stopping anytime soon. To be fair off the pitch he hasn't done himself any favours at all has he!.

In that same article, Cole is quoted as saying:
"I always try my hardest for England and Chelsea but the intrusion and pressure I feel is making my life hell."
This quote is very notable this morning as another story that has broken featured a while back when Jose was appointed Real Madrid boss. At the time he was appointed he said that he would love to have Maicon on the right and Ashley Cole down the left and it seems that Real are looking at making a formal offer of £25m for Cole.

The Daily Mail have the story running today as they predict Real Madrid will make a £50 offer for Cole and Gerrard in the coming days. Jorge Valdano has said that Real will look to bring in two more players after sealing the signing of Argentinian Di Maria the other day.

For me the Gerrard deal won't happen and it could be Ash and Maicon to link up with Jose. I just hope that Ash can stop all this phone rubbish from filling the papers, get his head down and concentrate on Chelsea and our quest for Champions League glory. The only thing is, he has yet another storm to ride at the moment and whether or not he wants to quit England after these new revelations is to be decided.

Finally the news that David Silva has snubbed Chelsea and signed for Manchester City as announced on their website.

MCFC have confirmed the deal. Is this a signing we have missed out on or was this story pure speculation?. What about what Silva said about Chelsea?. I do have to say however, I haven't been impressed with him at the World Cup!.

More tomorrow!
