Preview/Match Day - Barcelona 2nd Leg Semi Final

So tonight's the night. The time is upon us its the Champions League Semi Final 2nd leg against Barcelona.

Its time for Chelsea to pull out all the stops to make sure we don't concede but to also make sure that we attack Barcelona's defence that is weakened by the absence of their preferred centre halves in Puyol and Marquez.

I myself have just spent time in Barcelona since Sunday and the place is buzzing about their result at the weekend when they battered Real Madrid 6-2 and lets face it, their performance was amazing if you saw it. But when it comes to local TV and also people in the streets discussing the game their whole demeanour changes. Believe me, Barcelona come to the game worried BIG TIME about the threat Chelsea pose tonight and we need to make sure we capitalise on this.

Its also very interesting to hear how Barcelona's take on the first leg seems to have changed somewhat in the last week. After the game they were complaining about the fact that Chelsea were not attacking and sat and defended, that only one team tried to win the game. Now they come to Stamford Bridge and they themselves will be looking to do the same and hit Chelsea on the break.

There still is the main dangers of Messi, Eto'o and Henry (if he plays) and also the likes of Xavi and Iniesta in midfield but these people all rely on service and if their midfield in snuffed out against our boys Lampard, Ballack and Essien then they will remain redundant.

On Saturday night Madrid opened up and attacked Barcelona as it was a must win game. So played into Barcelona's hands and they destroyed them. I believe this is never gonna happen tonight.

Ashley Cole is back tonight and will be up against Messi. I believe Guus will opt for Ivanovic over Bosingwa in the right back role and it will be Alex and Terry again in the middle. These four will (hopefully) keep this lot quiet. Our midfield should be far superior in strength to their midfield and again this is where the game will be one.

Key man for us tonight is Frank Lampard. I personally think that Frank hasn't had the best two games against Barcelona and Fulham and will be well up for this one tonight.

Whoever Barcelona employ at the back next to Pique will have their hands full with Didier on form tonight. I believe again he will opt for Anelka and Malouda out wide who will occupy Alves and Abidal, but the key to this one tonight will be Yaya Toure v Frank Lampard.

This is the main focus tonight. Toure HAS to keep Lampard quiet. My opinion is that we will play with Ballack and Essien sitting next to each other in the midfield to keep Xavi and Iniesta quiet and this will give Lamps the freedom to get forward and attack Barcelona.

We saw in the first leg how Toure likes to moan and have a whinge during the game so let's make sure he is doing plenty of this tonight. Like i said, this is Lamps night tonight and i think he will be the difference tonight. I can see us winning by the odd goal.

One thing we have to remember is that if we concede first its not the end of the world. We have the experience and know how to cope with that, take stock and put plan B into place as we did at Anfield.

There is no question, tonight is massive and the biggest game of the season, we have to be up for it from the start and to hassle them in possession and then impose our strength and quality on them.

Let's hope that by 2145 tonight (London time) we have another date and a chance for revenge on Man Utd in Rome!.

Come on the Chels!
