The Premier League has always been the biggest and best of football – despite what Barca fans might say. The best matches, the strongest rivalries, and, of course, biggest mouths, can all be found in the Premiership.

The game might not change much year to year, but that doesn’t mean it’s not been changing off the pitch. Gone are the days when press conferences, sports pages, and (occasionally) lad’s mags were the sources of gossip and player woes – these days all you need to do is go on Twitter.

It’s safe to say the Premier League is a bit twitter mad, and the players have fully embraced new ways to reach their fans. And complain about referees.

Of course, with so many big personalities on the pitch, it begs the question: who’s got the biggest personality online? Well, over at SBo.net they’ve been wondering the same, and they’ve come up with something that tells us just how much these lads love twitter. Not only that, but they’ve even got a proper name for it – ‘The Premier League’s Biggest Twits’.

Turns out Yannick Bolasie is the most prolific football tweeter of last year – sending a massive 474 tweets in the past 12 months. He’s the only lad of Everton fame in the top 20 tweeters though, which goes to explain why the Mancunian delegation tweet over twice as much as the Scouse squads.

Keepers aren’t quite as quiet as you’d think, either – with 3 of the top 20 being players between the posts and 717 tweets between them. They also found that Brighton’s Shane Duffy and Manchester United’s Ander Herrera send as many tweets as each other – although you’d be forgiven for not wondering that before.
