Having missed out on Romelu Lukaku and standing by his decision to sell Diego Costa, Antonio Conte has offered Real Madrid £70m for Alvaro Morata with the player pushing for a move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are clear to make their move for Alvaro Morata who is rumoured to have been Antonio Conte's first choice summer signing after Lukaku's deal was confirmed to Manchester United yesterday. Lukaku was reported to have been Michael Emenalo's choice and he couldn't even get that deal done which says alot for him so Conte has made his move as he has now become desperate to find a striker that would be a perfect fit for him and Chelsea.
I honestly believe that Morata is that player as there is nothing you cannot admire about him. He isn't someone that will play off the shoulder of the last defender, he isn't someone that relies on a physical presence alone but someone who literally has it all in his locker coupled with a fantastic attitude to work rate for his team.

Chelsea's strike force has been based around a similar player to that of Didier Drogba. Someone who isn't massive by any stretch of the imagination but has a presence about themselves which is enough to hold their own, if not dominate their opponents. Someone who can hold the ball up, can finish and play their team mates in on goal if they are the better option. Diego Costa came here and took on that mantle and has been exceptional. Alvaro Morata IS the next in line to do exactly the same and as soon as Chelsea can get a deal done the better.
It's being reported that Real Madrid want £80m with Chelsea offering £70m. I sincerely hope an agreement can be made this week and he signs!
Who needs Costa or Lukaku when you can have this guy? He is the perfect solution for Chelsea mark my words!
Alvaro is the Real deal. Chelsea should sign him. I will delighted to see him as a cfc fan wear the 19 jersey.

ReplyDeleteI've only seen Morata play three times, and I've never seen him have a good game (nor do I trust these video compilations - I could look good in one of those edited correctly!). Having said that, if Conte rates him then that's good enough for me. The problem in signing him is likely to be the usual one of the extreme level of incompetence continually demonstrated by those responsible.
