Chelsea ask Tottenham to name price for Danny Rose? What do you think?

According to various sources, Chelsea have made an enquiry over the availability of Tottenham's left back Danny Rose and have followed that up by asking them to name their price. What do you think of Rose?

I personally believe that Chelsea have pretty much shot themselves in the foot here with Ryan Bertrand. OK, granted, at the time I stated that he wasn't the best defensively and it was good business in selling him to Southampton but now, after the disaster that was Filipe Luis, it's proves that we were wrong!

Working alongside JT, Cahill and Ivanovic, Bertrand would have had the ideal opportunity to learn more of the game and work on the defensive aspect. It would have been a perfect opportunity to do so this season.

Now with Luis gone, Chelsea need to sign a replacement quickly which is why a move for Rose seems to have been made. If anything, he would bolster the number of home grown players within our squad which always helps!

Plenty has been said of Baba Rahman with a fee of £17.5m quoted for the Augsburg defender and that looked to be the deal Chelsea would settle with. That seems to have changed within days as Chelsea believe they could sign Rose for £2.5m cheaper.

Tottenham signed the young full back Ben Davies from Swansea last summer and he has struggled to break into the side on a regular basis because of the performances of Rose. I still personally believe that Rose is far from the finished article but has plenty of potential in his game.

As with Bertrand, you would have to believe that working with our defensive unit here, his game would come on leaps and bounds working with the experience we have but then again, the question needs to be asked of Rose as to whether or not he is going to be prepared to fight Cesar Azpilicueta for his place in the side because we all know what happened to Ashley Cole!

I just want to gauge your opinions on where Chelsea find themselves now after Luis. Was the decision about Bertrand right? Do you rate Baba Rahman? Do you rate Danny Rose?
