DIEGO COSTA SPEAKS - "I love it, the fans love me and I want to stay."

We had read reports a couple of days ago that Diego Costa had made contact with Atletico Madrid and wanted to return to Spain. In Australia, speaking after the game against Sydney FC, Costa has denied those reports.

I wrote this article last night about Costa and how I personally felt that he needed to do more to settle down in England. The fact that he still doesn't speak a word of English is worrying. It seemed that everyone had jumped on the bandwagon after the Spanish Newspaper Marca broke the story.

So to Man of the Match Diego Costa last night and he spoke to Chelsea TV of the two games in Thailand and Australia. His first season at Chelsea and of the rumours that he wants to leave.

He said:

"[It is] quite a simple answer. It’s always a bit more difficult in the first season for adaptation, but I have no reason to leave this place, I love it, the fans love me and I want to stay."

Excellent news! I will admit I was worried for a second there because you never know how a foreign player is going to settle into life in England. As I said, not speaking a word of the language or even broken English isn't good.

Hopefully, Costa can get settled into life in England and will start picking up the language because it's really, really important.

Diego Costa will continue to improve working with Jose Mourinho and I believe will get better and better in his time at the club. He has set himself really high standards and has alot to live up to next season and beyond.

I just hope that we can sort out the obvious hamstring problems he has that have affected him for a year now. If we can have them sorted out, imagine what Costa could do for us if he were fit for the whole season!

For now, Chelsea fans can rest easy knowing the affection Costa has for our club!
