The one thing I hate about the football season being over and counting down the days and weeks to the season starting is all the rumour and speculation! Not a day goes by without Chelsea being linked to a whole host of people and it's really annoying!
Now I understand that Newspapers need to sell copy to make their money and reporters and writers need to produce articles to ensure they get paid but some of the reports recently have been way off the mark!
Two of those reports this summer have involved the futures of Fernando Torres and Juan Mata and although I felt that it's was rubbish and pure speculation, it puts doubt into your mind and you want to hear something concrete to put an end to it. For a few weeks now we have waited for that to happen.
That was until this morning! Having featured in the Confederations Cup in Brazil, Mata and Torres have been given extended time off in addition to David Luiz and Oscar, to recover and rest up.
Even though they are away, it's being reported by a source close to Chelsea that Jose Mourinho has already spoken to both players and has re-iterated that they ARE an important part of his plans for Chelsea's future and that's great news!
If Chelsea are to mount a serious assault for the title this season, I personally believe that BOTH players need to stay and form an important part of the Chelsea set up under Mourinho.
Having come through the bad times and finished the season with over 20 goals including a goal in the Europa League Final, I hope that Jose can push Torres that bit further this term.
As for Juan Mata, what can you say about the "Little Magician"? The best first touch of a ball I have ever seen and the main man as far as Chelsea's attacking third is concerned, for someone to have the opportunity to manage Mata and to pass him by would be a massive mistake.
We have seen at times just what our Chelsea team was capable of last season. Just imagine what they could become this season under the guidance of Mourinho!
It's great to finally hear that Juan Mata and Fernando Torres will play a big, big part in that!.
Carefree & KTBFFH!
