The Bayern View: The Talisman's wary of wounded Chelsea.

Next in my series of views coming out of Munich as we build up to Saturdays final is the view of Talisman, Bastian Schweinsteiger. I have posted some interesting views from the Manager and the President and now it's the turn Schweinsteiger. The German international was part of the side that lost to Jose Mourino's Inter Milan and has been quick to point out that Bayern are a better side now.

The interesting thing is, he is only too aware of the fact that Chelsea have also lost their one and only final in 2008 and because we have beaten Barcelona over two legs we are favourites.

He said:

"It was disappointing two years ago, when we faced a defensive side and were punished on the break. The team that makes the least mistakes wins games like that. We're a better team now and have learned from that defeat but it was still disappointing and that is another motivation for me going into this game. But then it is the same for the Chelsea players, who also lost a final.

Those who were in Moscow will have the extra motivation. They will be the most dangerous and will know maybe that this is their last chance to win the title they unfortunately lost there.

Players like Lampard, Drogba, Ashley Cole and Essien. Drogba is a player who can get a goal out of nothing. He is probably their most dangerous player. And we should not forget that, if you beat Barcelona across two games, you must be a very good side. You can always beat Barcelona in a one-off game but across two legs is the mark of a good side.

Because they did that they will actually be playing the role of favourites even if we are playing at home, which might also make a slight difference.

It's that Barcelona thing again isn't it. If you haven't seen it, I wrote a post that has appeared earlier this morning on the perception of Chelsea now since the Barcelona games and I stand by what I said, I honestly believe it could have an outcome on their performance.

It's clear that they are worried about us and as he said, those players who were there in Moscow being "the most dangerous".

It's funny because he started by saying that they lost out to a defensive side who punished them on the break! It could happen again on Saturday!.
