DROGBA OFFERED MORE MONEY THEN ETO'O?

One report that grabbed my attention yesterday was that of Didier Drogba apparently being offered a deal to join Samuel Eto'o at Anzhi Makhachkala.

Now it may not seem like a headline maker but when you hear that he was offered MORE MONEY than Eto'o to move there (approx £10m per season) and he has apparently turned it down, I find it staggering.

Staggering first of all because of the ridiculous amounts of money involved. Eto'o is already on a reported £300,000 per week AFTER TAX and for Drogba to be offered more is mind boggling!.

Secondly, the fact that he has reportedly told the Russian's that he isn't interested because he wants to finish his career at Chelsea and sign a new two year deal. The problem is, Chelsea are rumoured to only be interested in a one year deal and no more.

I can understand why Drogba wants to stay as the lure of the Champions League with Chelsea and having a crack at it once more however saying that, if you know the club is only prepared to offer you a one year deal then why not take the final big contract of you career and become the highest paid player in the world??

You have to commend Drogba for sticking to his principles but my god, imagine being paid that amount of money each week for doing something you love!
