Wilkins confirms bust up with Roman.

Last night on Skysports Champions League coverage, Ray Wilkins broke his silence on his exit from Chelsea and confirmed (as I had written on here at the time) that he had a heated exchange with Roman Abramovich after our exit to Inter Milan in the Champions League last season.

Wilkins said:

"I don't think I fell out with him (Abramovich) at all. I think if that was the case, then I would have been removed from my position immediately.

There wasn't an actual row (after the Inter defeat) it was more of a discussion. I think everybody was immediately after the game a bit pent up and we'd been knocked out of the Champions League by Inter, who are a very good side and over two games, deservedly beat us.

I think we're big enough to come away from that situation but we've moved on from there and we've gone and done the double but obviously the owner felt that there was need of a change."

I guess it's one decision that being Chelsea fans we just have to swallow, try and understand and have no choice but to move on.

What's done is done, but just goes to prove you can only do something once to put someone's nose out of joint and your cards are marked!.
