Ivanovic or Bosingwa?
So here's a question for you Chelsea fans. With the news that Jose Bosingwa is back in training and ready to feature once more in Carl...

So here's a question for you Chelsea fans. With the news that Jose Bosingwa is back in training and ready to feature once more in Carlo's thoughts for selection soon I was wondering if you thought he would be able to command his place back in the side?.
After all Ivanovic vary rarely has a poor game and if he has I would only recollect those games on one hand. He is strong, powerful, good in the tackle and has proven to be an important part of Carlo's defensive shape.
Bosingwa we all know loves to get forward and let's face it, that's his strength. However, defensively he lacks the presence and qualities that Ivanovic has but Carlo likes his full backs to get forward when possible and provide important width to our shape.
So what would you do? Who get's the nod for you, Ivanovic or Bosingwa?
If the boss is back then let bane play centre half and give the likes of alex or terry a rest from time to time. Because i feel that the two need some rest.

ReplyDeletei would play Bos at RB and alternate Iva at CB..but if its a game were we have to defend definately Iva,i bet we going to see him being used tactically,eg we winning 1-0 15mins to go,Bos substituted and Iva in..

ReplyDeleteWell if alex's injury against arsenal is bad, then maybe both will get a run..then we can see out of the two who performs.
ReplyDeleteId be inclined against lesser sides, use bosingwa and rotate iva as a cb.
Maybe in tough ecl games, use iva for his defensive stability.
I would change the Chelsea shape to 3-5-2, Play Terry,Ivanovic and Alex at the back! Mikel, Essien,Lampard, Centre of the Park, Malouda and Bosingwa out and out wingers, with Anelke and Didier up front!

ReplyDeleteif you remember bosingwa before two seasones was the best player in the europ for his posicion but his injuries left him back and ivanovic use this situation but i think bosingwa is still better than ivanovic
ReplyDelete@chelseadaft am not saying that we shud go bk to Mourinho tactics but not all games are easy,some we ahve to win ugly..the change am talking about is when we winning 1 nil and see that we under pressure and cant really commit forward,i wud use Iva as a tactical sub in tht situation,plus having him on the bench gives us comfort that whatever happens to any defender he can come on..coz at the moment if Terry or Alex go into a challenge u skip a heart beat
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely go for Bosingwa at RB, as there aren't many other fullbacks in the world who can neutralize Messi, and pacy wingers do tend to have their way with Iva at RB.
ReplyDeleteI'd play Bossy any day. Ivanovic is stronger in the air (and in general) and can definitely defend.
ReplyDeleteBut Bosingwa is much better at closing them down before they get dangerous.
And although he might get caught to far foward at times, at least he does some real damage up there.
Tough pick.. but i'd go for Iva. He's better deffending and could easily make a few attacking crosses as well. but if Bossie s comming back on his best it could change.. right now we are attacking more on the left, but if bos is back on the right back, we could attack down both sides!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about all this is that Carlo has options once again. Isn't it great sitting top of the league knowing we still have Lampard, Bosingwa, Kalou and Benayoun still to come back!
ReplyDeleteI personally feel that Ivanovic is a very good CB (off course hes gr8 playing as RB as well) especially when it comes to playing in Europe. Hes lot quicker than alex n terry so theoretically he should be paired with alex or terry on regular basis but terry+alex would probably remain preferred combo. All I think one should look at him primarily as CB and as a second choice RB or RB for tactical reasons.

Bosingwa is an awesome full back, but ever since Ivanovic scored those 2 headers against Liverpool, as far as im concerned, he is a worthy player for us! Anyone who scores twice against the 'pool gets my vote! :)
ReplyDeleteBos for me. Golden rule is to play players in their best positions. Ivanovic has been a decent deputy but he's a centre half. It's a shame that Van A has not been given the chance for a run at r/b, full backs are full backs, he's got pace, Pualo and Ivan are not the quickest.
ReplyDeleteI would go for Bosingwa for his attacking abilities coz we need some pace on the right flank, mostly after d departure of Joe Cole and Benayoun's injury & we also looked a little weak on the right side against mancity. For d time being, play iva & terry at CB, coz Alex is injured. After Alex returns we can use all 3 of them from time to time.
