The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here are the Chelsea news updates on Sunday 29th August 2010 including: Frank Lampard needs surgery on a Hernia, John Terry pulls out of England squad and Stoke set their asking price for Begovic.
First today to "Super" Frankie Lampard. Its fair to say that "Lamps" didn't have his best game yesterday including a missed penalty in front of the Matthew Harding. Lampard was taken off mid-way through the second half for Kalou yesterday and immediatley alot of people in the stand next to me speculated he was injured. This has now been confirmed by Carlo after the game. Ancelotti said:
Now to John Terry, another injured yesterday. During the game JT had taken a couple of knocks in tackles as he so often does but it appears that this time he wasn't really able to run one of them off. Chelseafc.com released a statement on the website about JT's injury (which I have to admit didn't seem apparent yesterday at the end of the game) it said:
Finally today its back to the Asmir Begovic and Chelsea's interest story that has run for a while now. It seems as though Stoke boss Tony Pulis has put a price on the player and is looking for £10m. It seems that Manchester City are also interested in the player as Shay Given looks to move away after losing his place to Joe Hart. Its now down to Chelsea to make their intentions clear to Stoke and it will be interesting to see if come Tuesday he is a Chelsea player or not.
More tomorrow..

'He [Lampard] has a problem on his groin, He had the surgery ten years ago and this week was not very good. He also didn't feel well in the game. So the only solution is to have surgery this week, maybe he will do this Tuesday or Wednesday. It means he is not able to play for the national team.I just hope that Lampard does make the same recovery as Drogba has done and is back fully fit before we take on Manchester City in a couple of weeks. For now, Carlo has plenty of options to cover for Lampard missing. Florent Malouda can come inside and Zhirkov or Kalou can play out wide. Ramires or Yossi Benayoun could come in the middle so we should be ok for West Ham and Blackpool.
He'll be ready in one week or two weeks. We have experience because it is the same surgery as Drogba and Drogba took one week before he was able to train. It is not a big problem. It is very easy surgery but he needs it because he started to feel pain

John Terry has tonight (Saturday) been ruled out of England's next two games due to injuries to his right hamstring and glute muscles.Once again let's hope JT makes a full recovery asap and will be available for our next game against West Ham.
John has spoken personally to the England management team, and Chelsea and England medical staff have also been in touch. All are agreed that John's injuries, that he has carried since pre-season, would benefit from a period of rest and rehabilitation.
