Chelsea Chief Executive Ron Gourlay said the other day:
"If Carlo wants to bring a player or two into the squad then we will look at that, It has to be the right player to fit into the squad and obviously at the right price. If these things all come together then fine, we'll strengthen the squad. But only if Carlo feels it's necessary."Obviously I wouldn't have thought it would be on a par with Manchester City but if you think back to the success we had last season and the financial rewards that come with that success, and not forgetting the fact that we never spent massive amounts of money last season in both the summer and January, I would imagine it's a fair few quid!.
With the story just breaking about Ramires pleading to come to Chelsea and the Fernando Torres saga seemingly far from certain I wonder how much do you think Carlo has to spend?.
KTBFFH..
Torres 45mil
ReplyDeleteRamires 20 mil
Top Draw center back 20 mil
total spend 85mill
Winning a treble, priceless
Besides wont have to buy for a while again after that
my guess is unlimited but will not hold ransom for crazy prices...
ReplyDeleteunlimited in sense that Carlo can buy any player he deems necessary even if it is in the range of ultra expensive player the likes of Torres or Kaka ...
Ramires looks decent as does Luiz. Torres keeps getting crocked... and he'll have alot to do to prove himself after spending so much time as a scouse... but he'll sell shirts in the meantime.
ReplyDeleteNever mind that, what about regulations this season requiring more home grown players in the squad?
I dont think there is any set limit to our funds... If Carlo wants a guy and if he is available for a resonable price, we will get him. But it does seem we are concentrating more in the 15-20m range than 20+ signings. We have only made 4 transfers that have been 20m+. 2 successful, 2 flopped. So i think we are being frugal when it comes to transfers these days.
