The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....

So here is the latest from around the web on Wednesday 21st July 2010 including: Deco, Neymar, Cech, Carvalho and Bruce Buck on Ashley Cole, Didier Drogba and the current squad we have.

July 18, 2010 - Indaiatuba, Sao Paulo, Brazil - epa02252748 Brazilian-Portuguese player Anderson Luis de Souza 'Deco' is ready to hit the ball during a match organized by himself to commemorate the second anniversary of the Deco20 Institute in Indaiatuba, Brazil, on 18 July 2010.

First to the news that Deco has reaffirmed his intention to leave Chelsea and go back to his native Brazil to finish his career. He said:
"It's been 13 years since I left Brazil for playing in Europe. Now I want to go back home and play in my country because I have never been able to win a title there. I want to return to Brazil most of all because of personal reasons but I am still in contract at Chelsea and I have to resolve that. Without I doubt I know that I owe it to my career to win a title in Brazil.

I want to have the chance to win a Brazilian domestic league title and a Copa Libertadores as I imagine that it must be a very strong sensation. I expect to have my situation resolved before July 26 for being able to travel to Brazil as soon as possible."

May 02, 2010 - Sao Paulo, Brazil - SAO PAULO (BRAZIL), 02/05/10.- Santos player Neymar (R) fights for the ball with Al (L) of Santo Andre during their Sao Paulo's State Tournament final match played at Pacaembu stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 02 May 2010.

Now to news that broke on the Santos website yesterday. Their website confirmed that they had turned down an offical bid from Chelsea believed to be in the region of £20m for starlet Neymar. However, its believed that Neymar has a £28.4m buyout clause in his contract and Chelsea could match the clause to get their man.

Now to news of Petr Cech's training ground injury. Cech injured his right calf muscle in training and its believed to be the same injury that kept him out for four weeks last season. Cech is now out for a month and for the Community Shield on 8th August and also our season opener against West Brom on Aug 14th. Let's hope Petr recovers asap..

Now to news that Jose Mourinho has turned his attention back to an old favourite of his Ricardo Carvalho. Mourinho failed in a bid to take Carvalho to Inter Milan last summer but after Alex has stepped ahead of Carvalho now for the place next to John Terry in the side it could be the time to Riccy to go and rejoin Mourinho. Its rumoured that a bid of approx £5m could be enough for Chelsea to sell.

Finally Club Chairman Bruce Buck has spoken out about Ashley Cole's future and also the clubs stance on our current squad. He said:
"Ashley Cole is not for sale, That's the bottom line on that. There's no doubt that he's going to be a Chelsea player this season. Ashley is a superb player. He is a delight to deal with around the football club, he gets on very well with everyone, he trains very well and he is really a model athlete.

Obviously, he is not happy with how his private life has become the focus of everything around him and I think we'd like to work with him so that he has a bit of a lower profile. We don't think the problem will change if he went to somewhere else outside of the UK, so I think we want to work with him here to make his personal life more enjoyable.

We say to all our players that might have personal issues that we want to help them as much as we can and even Carlo has said that on several occasions. There is a limit to what we can do but obviously we want to support our players and we want them to be happy not only on the pitch but also in their private lives. If you are not happy in your private life, it's hard to focus on your professional life.

Buck was then asked about Didier Drogba and speculation of interest from Man City. He said
"The club position is pretty straightforward, Didier had the golden boot, Didier had a great season, Didier is an important part of our plans for this season and the future and he is not for sale."

Buck was then asked about the current squad we have at Chelsea and if there would be anymore comings and goings. He said:
We're very happy with the squad we have now, so if there are any more additions, it will be fine-tuning. Whether or not they'll work out, who knows? We'll just see how it goes over the next six weeks."

KTBFFH!

  1. deco is another wasteful signing that f***er scolari made. let him go.

now peety is injured and are we gonna play hilarious & turnbully in the goal?! isn't it a f***ed up scene? Lotti should sign Jamesey darling from Pompey. He is a good back up for now. Later we can think of buying another good keeper like lloris or asenjo.

riccy dear can leave, he is almost useless, I think we have to let him go and sign Caceres - phew, the bugger can play all defensive positions.

Neymer 28.3mill? I would rather sign Lukaku for 14mill.
