Breaking News: Wayne Bridge Unavailable for selection for England

Wayne Bridge has released a statement this morning in light of the situation that occured with JT in recent weeks. He has made himself unavailable for England selection and wished the team well in the World Cup.

"I have thought long and hard about my position in the England football team in the light of the reporting and events over the last few weeks. It has always been an honour to play for England. However, after careful thought I believe my position in the squad is now untenable and potentially divisive. Sadly therefore I feel for the sake of the team and in order to avoid what will be inevitable distractions, I have decided not to put myself forward for selection. I have today informed the management of this decision. I wish the team all the very best in South Africa."

Is this Bridge cutting his nose off to spite his face? Should he really turn his back on his country?

To all England fans. I don't see this as any real loss. Ashley Cole will be fit for the World Cup and let's face it, if Ash is fit who are you going to play? Bridge or Cole?. Barry can be used as cover.

while bridge may or may not have been selected. He is the only one of the two who has taken the honourable action. JT should do the same
