As you people know, I have been right behind AVB as our manager. I have said that it's a hard job trying to regenerate this team and build something new. We have heard the saying a team in transition alot this season but you need a base to build from and that base has to be a good team. As it proved today Chelsea are NOT a good team.
OK, I may be over-reacting here straight after the game but from what I witnessed this afternoon, it's no surprise we have taken ONLY 12 points from a possible 30!. Our form isn't good enough to be in the top four, it reflects a side struggling to keep their heads above the drop zone!.
Everton played to their strengths today and worked hard, Chelsea didn't and it's as simple as that. Petr Cech SHOULD HAVE done better with their second goal for god sake just like the third goal last week. The bloke is already on the floor before making it easier for Everton's second when he should stand tall and make himself big.
Chelsea's defending at times was all over the place, our midfield are ok passing the ball sideways or backwards but going forwards have no idea. Torres continues to struggle with playing in this team because a year later, they still aren't giving him the service he needs.
Danny Sturridge needs to learn this is a team game and to play like it and as for AVB's substitutions again with taking Mata off when we are chasing the game, I give up!.
I said this was important and we couldn't afford to drop any points! Well guess what, we've done exactly that and looked like a team of individuals who didn't have a clue lacking ideas!
This isn't our Chelsea and wasn't today. This was woeful and for the first time this season, my feelings towards AVB are beginning to turn!. I know it's totally the opposite from what I have been saying on here, but after watching Chelsea today, all Chelsea fans HAVE TO now be of the same opinion.
We're out of the top four now and do not look like a side capable of getting back in it.
Big credit to Everton once again today. You continue to play for each other as a team and for your manager. Your climbing up the table and if anyone deserves to get right in amongst the fight for European places it's you lot. You have a great manager there.
Shocking Chelsea and AVB. You really were today and have no excuses!.

ReplyDeleteWhen mourinho came to Chelsea, he was good at Porto. Same as AVB. So you can't say they are in the same league. Mourinho came to a team that was in a better shape to a team AVB has inherited.

Chelsea were poor today. Easier went off as was knackered and AVB didn't think Mata was having a good game. Fact is, we don't have a good squad now and couldn't bring on people to make the changes.
thank God uv seen wat i saw months ago-AVB doent have it in him to transition this team there absolutely even tiny shows of brilliance/magic we can say with right conditions he will do gud.he simply has no "IT"
ReplyDeleteI was disappointed by the match. Chelsea was just poor. Torres is done, it's not about the service anymore. He had a chance against Manchester united but just couldn't convert. As for AVB, it's hard to judge because he has displayed this season he can beat top teams. It's down to the players. Chelsea has to spend big in the summer. Give AVB a chance to build a squad he wants and then judge. If he hunks he can do better with Falcao than Torres, he should get him. But in order for him to remain manager next season, he has to somehow finish in top 4 and win atleast either CL or FA Cup!
ReplyDeleteAgreed with you....today I lost faith in AVB. I guess this has me worried that he has lost the team if they are willing to put in a performance like that. Toffees are no push-overs, but today was embarrassing when they should have put a stamp on their intensions.

Torres was only good at Liverpool because of Gerrard, if you look at his goals Gerrard set them all up. We have to admit that Fat Frank and the rest of our midfield are not in the same class as Gerrard
