There are three reasons as to why Chelsea's form has improved in recent weeks and they are:
AVB started the season by doing exactly that. People that weren't involved in one game would be involved in the next game because they were fresh and the constant chop and change of the playing staff disrupted the side in my view.
I was calling out for AVB to stop the slump and the rot we were in by deciding who his best eleven was, sticking with them or at least the majority of them and only make one or two changes. It's worked a treat ever since he has done that. Players are becoming used to each other and the way they play and we are beginning to see the Chelsea of old.
Another part of our game that I had called to change was this ridiculous high defensive line that we had adopted that will never work over in England. It's obvious we do not have defenders with blistering pace in our side and the fact we had become constantly exposed was a major concern. I also asked for a "back to basics approach" to our game starting at the back. I wanted our defenders to just defend first and concentrate on that.
It has been very noticeable in my eyes anyway, that John Terry has had two fantastic games at the back and that's because he is far more comfortable by playing deeper. As a result he has been immense and has very rarely been caught out in behind. It's not just Terry, they all look for more comfortable after questions were being asked of their form.
Finally, Oriol Romeu has had a MAJOR impact on the side and some are already saying he could be the signing of the season. I posted earlier today that John Obi Mikel could be fighting for his future at the club because of the real emergence of Romeu.
We have been looking for someone to fill the holding role to do a job defensively first and foremost, but to also have more than enough in his locker with the ball at his feet. Romeu is two footed, can pick and pass and is calm and assured under pressure and really has been a revelation this season already.
Chelsea's recent change in fortunes against Wolves, Newcastle and Valencia co-insides with the fact that Romeu has started them all - We have had three clean sheets!. The impact he has had cannot be understated. He really is THAT good.

You are wrong about Oriol. Chelsea fortuns changed only because they drop that ridiculous high line defence. Put peter cech in the holding position and we will still win. Can you see how ramires covers for Oriol. Lets see how your Oriol fares against Man City.

Yea u may think is because of Romeu that we did not conceed goal, it your own opinion, even if we put a striker in that position with the way we play now by droping the high line defence we wil still still win convincingly. Dont let us overraye Romeu, he still have alot to learn. For me i still prefer Mikel for now.
