AVB DEBATE: RATE HIS START AS CHELSEA MANAGER

I am interested to find out all of your opinions on our manager Andre Villas-Boas and the start he has made at Chelsea. We are two months into the season now and have played enough games to form an opinion of how we are playing, formation etc so I just would like to know as many of your opinions as possible.

Let's remember that AVB cost Roman £13.3m back in the summer and with that, AVB won his first battle, he asked to have the bigger say on transfers and the playing squad which was immense compared to other managers.

He cancelled a pre season friendly that had been arranged for just days after the squad came back together, which was another impressive move and sign of someone who's preparation is just as important as getting our formation right.

Pre season went well as we won the Premier League Asia Trophy. Also at the time he had to deal with constant speculation about Fernando Torres and declared the media had an "obsession" with our striker. In recent times he has had to deal with constant speculation surrounding Frank Lampard and has dealt with that situation fantastically well. I just wonder who will be next with the media and Chelsea?.

We then saw him make important signings. Romeu and Lukaku came in, joined by Courtious who was immediately loaned out to Atletico Madrid. These were then followed by two big signings in Juan Mata and Raul Meireles. We also saw two of our first team squad leave in Zhirkov and Benayoun on loan.

We have progressed on penalties past Fulham in the League Cup, beaten Leverkusen at home and taken a point in Valencia to top our Champions League group and have made a good start to the Premier League dropping two points away at Stoke (which isn't that bad at all) and losing in the impressive game at United.

We have beaten West Brom, Norwich, Sunderland and Swansea.

We have seen AVB haul of Kalou after 30 minutes in a league game at home because he wasn't doing what he was asked to do and have seen AVB take Lampard off at Old Trafford at half time as despite Chelsea playing well, were 3-0 down and something needed to be changed. Chelsea went on to dominate the game and create more chances than I can ever remember at Old Trafford having 21 attempts on goal in the game.

I personally think he has done great he really has. He has had the balls to make important decisions and tactical changes IN GAMES that has added the extra dimension to our play we have been lacking.

Alot is made of his "antics" on the touchline during games too but I love it. I am delighted to see a manager so passionate about the game, the way his side is playing and seeing his raw emotion when we score is great it really is. Compared to some managers who stand their and hardly react to anything frustrates me. Look at Carlo, at Old Trafford in the League game towards the end of the season, the only emotion we saw from him was to give Luiz a bollocking after the Chicarito goal. That was it.

AVB continues to impress me week on week with the way he handles everything from the players, to our tactics, to the media and training. It must have been difficult to win the players over but it looks as though he has done exactly that. Fair play AVB, and good luck for the rest of the season, I am right behind you as our manager.

So question time, after looking back on all this, how do you think AVB has done as our manager? Spread the word amongst your Chelsea mates as I am trying to get as many of you as possible posting your views. Don't just read this post, come on get involved and have a voice today!.

  6. I've been for long searching for a phenomena that could portray the term 'Unique' and i think i've seen it in AVB.
Young, taciturn, Intelligent, Invulnerable and exceptional, he has helped in mutating our team to that force to reckon on and he's ability to switch formations, read the game brilliantly and rotate his match day squad makes him a Modern day manager and a SW6 cult hero!

    Viva La Andres!
