I present to you my second tactical analysis of Inter Milan before the game this evening. I have studied the first leg in Milan. I have looked at the three games Inter have played since the first leg. Here is my view.
Key Points:
- Watch the runs of MILITO. DO NOT let him cut back on his right foot. Show him outside.
- Watch the runs down the right of MAICON
- Keep SNEIJDER quiet. If the game pans out as I expect he will be non existant anyway
- When Inter attack, 5 men get forward. We must maintain our defensive shape.
- ALEX must play in place of CARVALHO.
- MALOUDA must play in midfield to force MAICON back and to dominate him
- WIDTH. We need to attack Inter wide. Their full backs are easily caught out of position.
- Have a strike a goal from 20-25 yards as Inter's defence back's off to the edge of own box.
- LAMPARD can be the winner. Inter's midfield do not track back when lose the ball. His late runs into the box could be key to the victory tonight.
- TURNBULL - Inter will look to test him early and rough him up at corners. Needs to be strong.
- THE MOST IMPORTANT - We must play to our own pace and tempo. Inter will run out of legs in the second half. Around 60-70 mins Inter will fade if we keep a high tempo. They will open up and this is where most of the damage can be done.
Its time for Carlo Ancelotti & the players to deliver and I believe they will. I predict a Chelsea goal before half time, to go in 1-0 on the night and 2-2 on aggregate. Inter will have to come out and score second half. We need to remain disciplined and hit them hard on the counter attack. Chelsea to score 2 more in last 20 minutes of the game to win it 3-0 and 4-2 on aggregate.
