Once again Thibaut Courtois has given an interview which has been taken out of context and has led to reports that he is looking for a move back to Spain at the end of the season.

If you could stop someone talking to the media it would be Courtois. It seems that every couple of months we are having to read interviews he has given while away with Belgium or interviews given to foreign newspaper outlets while at Chelsea that has led to transfer speculation. It's at least three or four times a season and becoming ridiculous.

The latest is a report following on from articles that appeared a few weeks ago. Back then, we were reading that Courtois has rejected the opportunity to discuss a new contract extending his time here having just 18-months left on his current deal. As you know, when you have a year left, you virtually have your own destiny in your hands with your current club knowing that you would be free to entertain other offers just six months down the line in January.

Courtois made it clear back then that he wanted to focus on the football with a busy period coming up for Chelsea. There was no other reason other than that and I thought at that point all this speculation of his future would be put to bed.

However, the latest rumours again of his reportedly "stalled" contract talks has led to increased speculation that he wants to return to Madrid to be closer to his children who live with his ex-partner in the Spanish capital.

Once again Courtois has had to speak out of his future and the latest report, re-affirming the fact that he remains happy at Chelsea.

He said:

"It (my private situation) is not always easy. But I'd also seen this coming. I knew that she (his former girlfriend) would return to Madrid, so that has its influence too.

I love my children to death. When you miss them, you are sometimes wondering: shouldn't I play in Spain in the next few years? That's why I want to take my time to make a decision on that contract extension.

In the media they're always talking about money. I'm not denying that it plays a role, but everything has to be in its right place.

If I sign a new contract, I will want to say to Chelsea: Look, I commit myself for an x amount of years. I am happy here. I like playing for the club, I like London.

My private situation is always gnawing a little bit, but for the rest I'm feeling very good at Chelsea.

I don't see any reason why I won't sign a new deal. I just want to consider all options. Everything has to be right. “It's not the right moment to make hastily decisions. Not for Chelsea, not for me.

Within a couple of months we will sit around the table again and talk openly. There's no pressure, apart from the media. The clubs knows that too. Basically I want an agreement before the end of the season. Normally with Chelsea." - Source; The Mirror

It looks as though he is more than happy to stay here so there is no panic for his new contract talks to wait for a couple of months as he says. Hopefully now the reports will die down for a while. Or at least until he gives yet another interview that will be taken out of context!
