According to a media report that has originated in France, Chelsea are looking to sell Willian to the Chinese Super League in January to fund their transfer bid of £27 to sign Lucas Moura from PSG.

First and foremost I personally think these reports are total rubbish are pure speculation. Lucas Moura has found himself down the pecking order at PSG since the arrival of Neymar and Mbappe with his involvement in the season being cut down to just 71 minutes since the season started - most of those being late on in games from the bench.

Secondly as with any transfer window you have to prepare yourselves to read total bollocks and all sorts of crap that is touted about. You have to question the reason for the rumours and where they originate? In this case, Moura's agent would have already had discussions with his client over the serious lack of game-time and major concerns over his involvement for the remainder of the season. So what happens?

All of a sudden there is a rumour being touted about that a big club from a different league is reportedly interested. This increases the coverage his client gets, gets more people involved with more clubs contacting them of his availability and if a move pays off both he and the player get their pockets lined with money.

So what of the reports that Chelsea would be looking to sell Willian in January? Is there any substance at all? Well if we are honest it's clear that he has lost his place in the pecking order to Eden Hazard and Pedro.

If Antonio Conte decides to stick with same formation he used against Manchester United by playing three central midfielders and just Eden Hazard playing behind Alvaro Morata up front, that will lead to even less involvement as no-one else is going to play in that number ten role ahead of Hazard.

Speaking back at the beginning of October, Willian spoke out of reports linking him with a move away from Chelsea by claiming that he is very happy here.

I have to say that I have noticed his body language and general demeanour to not be good of late with obvious signs of frustration. I would love for that to turn around and for Willian to be happy again at Chelsea but things will need to change in order for him to do so and if that means a move in January then I would not be surprised based on the past couple of weeks.

As for Lucas Moura? I can't see it and would keep Willian over him any day of the week!
