Arsene Wenger has paid tribute to Antonio Conte and his Chelsea side in recent days and has branded them "super favourites" for the title claiming that it's Chelsea's to lose now.
It's not everyday that Arsene Wenger gives other teams and in particular a title rival a glowing compliment so when you receive one you will take it and it's nice to hear compared to the moaning and groaning about us that we have become used to for so long.
Arsenal travel to Bournemouth tonight (which is no easy game) before we take on Tottenham tomorrow night and Wengers side could close the gap to six points with the hope that their North London neighbours can do them a favour against us.
Speaking of Chelsea's position at the top of the League, of the signing of David Luiz, Antonio Conte and the possibility of Chelsea breaking his record with a 14th win in-a-row against Tottenham he said:
"At the moment Chelsea are the super-favourites because they are quite big and made a big difference.
But it is theirs to lose as we say here in England. They can still lose it, at the moment they have won it but they can still lose it.
It's still a long way to go and very difficult for everybody so the head-to-head (matches) will have a vital importance.
They have addressed their problems well. You have to give credit to Conte to find a solution that has balanced well his team.
They bought David Luiz who stabilised their defensive record and I think overall they are the team that has been the most consistent until now.
What they do is fantastic. If they do it, it's absolutely marvellous because nobody expected that. At the start of the season, they had a little bit of a dodgy start, but after, since they've changed their system, they are on a run where the confidence plays a big part.
If they do it, you can only say 'well done'. Record are there to be beaten and if somebody does better than you, you have to acknowledge it and say 'well done'." - Source: The Telegraph.
As I said it's not everyday that you get a compliment from Arsene Wenger. If anything, we should be thanking him and his team for hitting us hard at The Emirates 0-3 because they exposed all the problems we had with our formation and the players last season. As we know it forced Antonio Conte into a tactical switch and thirteen games later, the rest is history.
Tomorrow night is massive and everyone will be willing Tottenham on, to beat Chelsea and to stop our run going. The problem for everyone else is that we are playing so well and deserve to be where we find ourselves at the moment. This Chelsea team will cause problems for anyone that is put in front of us including Tottenham who we beat after coming from behind 2-1 as part of this run that we are on.
As for talk of the title being ours to lose? Maybe it is but there is still such a long way to go, it's important that Antonio Conte and his players continue to do as they have all season so far and that's to take each game as it comes.
