According to many sources in the Press, Antonio Conte is looking for a big named Striker this summer to take on the Premier League challenge in his first as Chelsea Manager and three names are on his shortlist. What do you think are our chances on signing them?
The three names on the shortlist are Alvaro Morata, Romelu Lukaku and Gonzalo Higuain and I want to know what you the Chelsea fans reading this post think of our chances of signing any of them in the Summer window under Conte?
As we know, Radamel Falcao has left the club and is returning to Monaco, Alexandre Pato's future remains very much up in the air and the situation with Diego Costa remains unclear. Chelsea need re-enforcements and these three are currently at the top of their games. However, and it must be said, Morata and Higuain would need to defer from playing Champions League football next season if they want to come here.
First and foremost, what a player he has turned out to be. Someone sold by Real Madrid because of the lack of opportunities there, Morata has taken the chance offered to him by Juventus and has really grown into one of the brightest talents in the game.
Anyone who has watched the Champions League this season and the Juventus v Bayern Munich tie in the knockout stages would have seen just how much of an impact he has these days. Juventus were on top and in control with Morata working his socks off. He was a real thorn in the side of Bayern and caused them so many problems.
As soon as he was substituted the game changed and as a result, Bayern got back into it and went on to go through.
Morata came off the bench this weekend to score the winner against Roma to win the Coppa Italia and seal another double for Juventus but refused to discuss his future after the game. Having signed for £20m in 2014, you would imagine the Italian champions would want a significant profit from Chelsea if any bid was made.
What is there to say about the big Belgian that hasn't already been said? A strong, powerful forward who has proved himself in the Premier League over the last three seasons. Having moved to Everton with the backing of his manager knowing he will play week in, week out, Lukaku has really grown into the role he plays. The only negative is his ability in the air which needs to be better.
Having openly admitted to having a dream to play for Chelsea, it never really materialised the first time around but now with rumours rife that the club and Conte want him back, he is already talking up a move away from Merseyside after the Euros.
Having signed for Everton for what appeared to be a massive £28m two seasons ago, Everton would want a significant profit for any deal that would take him back to Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku has scored 61 goals in 127 appearances for the Toffee's and in my opinion, at just 23, he would be the perfect signing for Conte as we look to build a new dynasty at Stamford Bridge.
The Argentinian Striker has been linked with Chelsea on numerous occasions but chose to move to Napoli and reject our advances three summers ago in a move worth around 40m Euros.
Another Striker who felt that he had to leave Real Madrid due to a lack of opportunities with the arrival of Kareem Benzema after the departure of Raul. Higuain deserved the right to express his frustrations having scored 121 goals in 264 games.
At Napoli, Higuain continued his fine goal scoring form and to date has scored 91 goals in 146 appearances which is some record you would have to agree.
It seems as though he has been around for years but he is still only 28, and arguably in the prime moments of his career. Having seen him first hand, he is another that Antonio Conte admires and could be the most expensive out of the three to bring to West London.
So there you have it, three strikers that would offer Antonio Conte something very different next season. You have the hard working, goal scoring Alvaro Morata. You have the physical presence that is Romelu Lukaku and finally and out and out goalscorer in Gonzalo Higuain.
