Today say Chelsea confirming the fourth loan move of the summer so far. This one has seen the younger brother of Eden, Thorgan Hazard make another move away from the club. After spending the last 2 seasons on loan at Belgian club Zulte Waregem he is taking a step up and joining Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 21 year old winger has enjoyed a good couple of years at Zulte where he constantly impressed and so much so last season that he won player of the year. In last seasons outings he made a hugely impressive 49 appearances for Belgian club and scored a decent 16 goals in that time which a very decent return.
However the loan to Germany is a big step up but without doubt one that he is more than capable of dealing with. The Bundesliga will be a tough test but also an excellent stage to develop his game playing against some big teams and playing in big games too. Last season Monchengladbach finished in 6th position which will mean Europa league football for Thorgan last season which is very important at this stage in his development.
There were a number of clubs chasing to sign up the younger Hazard this summer including Premier League clubs such as Liverpool and Everton, however it was deemed that Hazard would stand a much better chance of improving himself away from English football once again.
Thorgan is a hugely talented player and he was on the verge of making the Belgian National team for the World Cup and if he can add more to his game this season then there is no reason why we couldn't see the Hazard brothers playing together in the Chelsea team in the near future.
