The situation with Thibault Courtois is a weird one really isn't it. As Jose Mourinho has just said himself in his pre match press conference, we have the best goalkeeper in the world in Petr Cech and the best young goalkeeper in the world in Courtois.
This is the third season Courtois has been sent on loan at Atletico Madrid with him still being only 22 years old and as yet, he has not played a single game for Chelsea.
The problem Chelsea have is that because Courtois has really developed his game, grown as a player and also in stature, he is now used to playing first team football week in, week out and also Champions League football.
With that in mind, there have been fresh reports recently that he is not prepared to come to Chelsea next summer and settle for a place on the bench, he wants the same next season as he has now and that's playing every week!
I think we all know, that simply will not happen with Cech still here so as a result and with Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes stating he will leave the Catalans at the end of the season, Courtois is being touted as a potential replacement for Valdes.
You would have to imagine that for the player himself to stay in Spain would be perfect having adjusted to life there and doing well. Then, if these reports are true, to have the chance of playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world in Barcelona would be hard to resist and again with the chance of playing every week!
Chelsea have themselves a difficult situation and all I can see happening is a decision being made of keeping one without the other. It's seems that Barcelona will give Chelsea the chance to do that and it's being reported that Chelsea have set an asking price of £21m for the young Belgian.
You would have to imagine they would be more than willing to meet the valuation and Courtois could be sold by Chelsea without playing a single game for us!
What do you people think about all this? Should Chelsea sell Courtois who let's face it, is one of the biggest young talents in the game or should we look at offloading Cech and building Jose's new revolution around players such as Courtois?
