There is no other way to describe the game against Tottenham tonight for Chelsea other than to call it a Cup Final and it's my opinion that we should treat the game as exactly that. The prize on offer is what this football club strives for and requires season in, season out and we have a chance to more or less confirm Champions League football next season.
We have seen over the last couple of months Rafa Benitez adopt a rotation policy to keep everyone fit, the team fresh and everyone on their toes. He MUST abandon the rotation policy tonight and send out what HE believes to be his strongest eleven. Forget Villa on Saturday lunchtime and forget Benfica in Amsterdam, this is what our season has come to and we must deliver three points!.
The problem we have though is guessing who Rafa's strongest eleven is now that Gary Cahill is back in contention, Eden Hazard is expected to be passed fit and apart from Mikel and Bertrand, everyone is available for selection including Oriol Romeu who could make a surprise return to the first team earlier than expected. Who will Rafa decide to start with? Your guess is as good as mine!
So, ahead of the massive game at Stamford Bridge, I just wondered who YOU the Chelsea fan reading this, believes to be our strongest eleven and the team you would like to see start tonight to give us the best possible chance of three points.
For now, I am going to give you two team selections. The first one is the team I believe Rafa Benitez will start with and the second is the team I would prefer he started with:
Cech, Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Luiz, Cole, Romeu, Ramires, Oscar, Mata, Hazard and Torres.
Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry(c), Cole, Luiz, Lampard, Ramires, Mata, Hazard and Torres.
So what do you people think? Who do YOU want to see start tonight for Chelsea v Tottenham?
Carefree & KTBFFH!
