Ever since Ron Gourlay was quoted after Chelsea returned from their pre season tour of America, the press as usual, have gone into overdrive.
Chelsea, ever since Roman Abramovich took over, have been linked with all sorts of players in every single transfer window and it's pretty much become the "norm".
Having spent the sums of money we have this summer, it seems that Chelsea are still working on adding strength in certain areas and their spending hasn't finished.
This was confirmed by Gourlay as he said:
The question is, "Who are the right players now?".
At the moment three names are still being linked with us and they are: Moses, Hulk and Cesar Azpilicueta.
Now we know that Chelsea have had a couple of bids rejected by Wigan for Moses and it seems that our opening offer for Azpilicueta has also been rejected by Marseille.
Are these players people that you the Chelsea fan reading this, personally feel that we need to add to our squad or are their better players out there that you think would be better options?
It's obvious we need a right back so who is out there? I personally would go for Micah Richards of Man City but the problem is, City won't do business with any of their direct rivals in the Premier League.
As for Moses, pretty new on the scene and rumoured as being considered because of the "home grown" factor. For me, again over at City but I would go for Adam Johnson who is underrated and doesn't get enough playing time at City. He would be the better, more expensive option but you will have to convince City to sell to us!.

ReplyDeleteTo the 3 comments above mine. 1: Don't expect Chelsea to be firing and playing fluently this season just yet. Team gelling is the key at this point so spectacular football might just come later in the season. 2: Having two tall strikers with almost the same style of play isn't the right way to go. We all saw what happened with Torres and Drogba. Falcao and Cavani IMO is not the way forward. Neymar will add that creativity and versatility to either feed Torres from the wing or even go for goal himself. I saw him make some fantastic runs in the game against New Zealand. Mata,Oscar and Hazard/Marin can release him when he makes those runs. Having two different style type of strikers will benefit us and like Robbie said,we'll be unpredictable.

Buy him n he would want to leave d premier league after two years n to crown things all he is very expensive . ReplyDeletei think we do need another right back, van der wiel, azpilicueta, or mayb dani alvez from barca. as for neymar or hulk, we dont need to waste more money, financial fair play is up ahead. we should use lukaku and sturridge to the max. and perhaps add a -not too expensive- striker only for backup.

All comment here are good but currently now, chelsea needs attackers like hulk, cavani, neymar, moses. If we can buy hulk and cavani, we are ok.
