If newspaper reports are to be believed, Chelsea have beaten Tottenham and AVB to the signing of highly rated Brazilian midfielder Oscar for a deal worth around £22m.
Oscar, who can play on either side or in behind the striker has been named in Brazil's Olympic squad and will become the latest Brazilian to join our ranks alongside Luiz, Ramires and Lucas Piazon.
Forget the likes of Hulk and Moses for a second, if this deal gets done then that is REALLY impressive stuff from the Chelsea board!.
With Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Oscar in behind Fernando Torres and all of them with freedom to chop and change positions, it will without question be an exciting time for Chelsea fans this season.
Chelsea haven't wasted time in signalling their intent to challenge City this season.

Spurs fan here. Not sure how these articles get written (or approved) , however spurs have a partnership with internacional. If a club places a successful bid then spurs have the option to match the bid. Then it's up to the player to decide. So the fact the journalists have been claiming that Chelsea has trumped spurs seems a bit far stretched unless spurs didn't have the same evaluation. Now on the flip side I find it strange that inter are asking 20mm pounds for a player they supposedly just purchased from Sao Paolo a month ago for a reported 8mm pounds. I do believe that Oscar may leave purely because ganso is apparently in chats to move to inter...only time will tell. Whomever he joins should have a talented player on their books.
ReplyDeleteActually spurs only have first refusal if the player is from the inter academy... and since he played for the Sao Paulo senior team before joining inter, spurs don't get that option. Also the player has to agree terms anyway, so can choose Chelsea

ReplyDeleteSay that again? Chelsea make more money than Spurs!! (Including last season btw) The youth at Chelsea won the FA Cup last season and beat Manchester youth on the way up..no talent? No youth? True enough, Roman does put in alot into the Chelsea system, but we made loads of money by winning the Champions league last season and kicked you out of the competition in the process! Chelsea are Champions of Europe (we may not win that again this year but who cares) and also won the FA Cup, Spurs finished fourth (no award for that) and will play in the Europa League....deal with it!

What will uncle lampard say about all of this, and can de Matteo integrate these new guys into the old system. Ol harry screwed up his tactics in the fa cup semi at 2-1, not to mention the stupid ref. And even the most biased Chelsea fan will admit to being really lucky for the champs league.so ask reckon Chelsea are in for a tough transition, and personally I am not sure if spurs should spend 22 on Oscar.
