Credit to United as Chelsea crash out AGAIN!

How many times Chelsea this season, how many times have we promised so much and delivered so little? How many times this season have we wait...

How many times Chelsea this season, how many times have we promised so much and delivered so little? How many times this season have we waited for positive changes during a game to be left sitting here wondering why?.

I'm afraid it's all part and parcel of Chelsea's season and tonight against a hard working United side inspired by Wayne Rooney, Chelsea paid the price.

The most frustrating thing about tonight is that we started well and created chances. Anelka's toe poke just wide was close but Frank Lampard's side foot shot into the grateful arms of Van Der Sdar was the closest we came to scoring in the first half.

The problem we had was that Rooney was pulling the strings tonight and Chelsea let him. Dropping off Hernandez into space, time and time again he was able to pick the ball up deep and knock it about.

Chelsea should have been aware of the threat Hernandez movement causes any defence when his header was ruled out for being offside. However, even if it did look at least borderline, no one picked him up as the sloppy Anelka was caught ball watching as Giggs and O'Shea played a simple one-two around him and Giggs crossed low towards the back post and Hernandez sliced into the top corner to make it 1-0. Sloppy defending by Chelsea once again as in the first game and as we would see cost us straight after we scored!

So 1-0 down at half time and you are looking for Carlo to inspire the lads, make a change and he does, Drogba for Torres! Why not Anelka!?. As the second half progresses you can see Chelsea playing from side to side again, lacking the killer ball and turning back and passing either square or where they have just come from.

So you look for another change and it's Kalou for Anelka which I guess you can understand at the time provided Kalou has an impact on the game but he doesn't!!.

Then out of nothing and to his credit since he came on for Torres he deserved it, Didier Drogba latches onto a Essien ball over the top, chests it down and smacks it home and with 13 mins left on the board you are thinking that's all it takes!, we are right back in it!

The thing is at this stage we are down to ten men because of the diving, cheat Nani! The first yellow is fair play but the second for Ramires, he tries to pull out of it, Nani feels contact and goes down like he has been shot smacking the pitch as if badly injured. The United players surround the ref and Ramires gets a second yellow and he is off! Nani get's up two seconds later and makes a run off the ball down the wing with no sign of any injury!

In addition to that his gestures of asking the Referee to book players is the sign of someone who has no respect of fair play or the game! Like I said he is a cheat who I hope one day gets found out big time! (Let's hope Ronaldo or Messi get one over him and them in the final!)

Getting back to the game, we had just scored through Drogba and we are thinking just one more but before we can catch our breath United go up the other end and score through Park to make it 2-1 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate.

Game over and it was. Chelsea never looked like scoring again apart from a Malouda shot from outside the box pushed away to safety. Carlo made his third substitution taking off Alex for Ferreira which baffled me as Benayoun is sitting on the bench!

Unfortunately for Chelsea we never took our chances in the first half to change the game, made two bad substitutions and saw once again the likes of Lampard and Malouda drift out of the game in the final third.

Credit to Man United (Apart from Nani) for the way you played in both games. Your back four and midfield worked hard without the ball and Giggs, Hernandez and in particular Wayne Rooney did a great job with the ball.

As for Chelsea, it's the first time in six years we have not won a trophy and questions need to be asked. Forget Torres and the obvious reports that will appear in the morning. He should have been kept on with Drogba replacing Anelka!.

You will read that the 75m gamble didn't pay off and more crap like that tomorrow so once again I urge you to ignore it for the most part. The simple fact remains that we were beaten by a better side in both games and a player at the top of his game in Wayne Rooney! Its just a shame that when knowing this is all you have left in our season, our manager and players choke once again as Fergie and his team rise to the challenge like they have so many times before.

As for United. Sorry Barcelona will rip you apart like last time if you make it to the final and I hope Nani gets two yellow cards for diving or asking for a player to be booked. At some stage you need to realise what you stand for as a club and your prestige and tradition and pull this cheat up to portray what you as supporters expect in a United shirt!.

As for Chelsea, Roman Abramovich should have seen tonight what we all have seen for the last 6 months, Chelsea under Ancelotti have no plan B!. I would openly ask Mr A to take a look at White Hart Lane tomorrow night and watch a side from madrid play a game of football to win and not get beat in the Mourinho mould. You see, at this level it's all about winning football and not the attacking attractive football we keep on hearing that Roman wants.

I will go on record now to say I wouldn't be surprised to see Carlo sacked after tonight. His lack of options and a plan B has been found out last season against Jose's Inter twice and now Fergie's United twice! It's all well and good when we have confidence and scoring for fun like last season, but when we aren't, and struggling for goals, Ancelotti has been found wanting.

To put it plain and simple over these two games, United picked their side and played to their strengths, Carlo Ancelotti picked a side.

I hate losing but if we deserved to lose in both games then fair enough. United deserve it because they took their chances and that is the difference.

KTBFFH!
