Now this weekend all over the press and especially after this weekends game against West Brom after he was left on the bench by Sir Alex Ferguson, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive about Wayne Rooney and his future at Old Trafford.

There are "reports" that Sir Alex and Rooney have had "massive" bust up's and their relationship now is over and has no chance of being patched up. It's now being reported that Rooney has said to his England team mates last week ahead of the Montenegro game that he is "fed up and needs to find a new club soon". (Source Daily Mail)

This added fuel to the fire being reported last week after the England game when he was asked about the ankle problem that has being bothering him for a couple of weeks as stated by Ferguson, Rooney said he's had no problems.

There is no question there is a problem between them. Its reported that Rooney feels as though he was left out of the Everton game as punishment for his old field antics and not as Ferguson stated that he wanted to protect him from the reception he would receive. Rooney also questions why has was left out of the side for the games at Fulham, Sunderland and Valencia.

I think even the most die hard United fans realise that Rooney and Fergie have their problem with each other. As the newspaper article suggests it's not the first big name player to fall out with Fergie and be shown the door as a result. Players such as Ince, Keane, Beckham etc.

At just 24 years of age he has another 9-10 years left in him. I think if he chooses to move abroad it's massive loss to the English game. Rooney is already an iconic figure in football, yes he has the old the pitch problems he is dealing with and us Chelsea fans have come to live with things like that being reported in recent times.

However, it's what happens on the pitch is where it matters for me and always will and it's obvious there is a problem with him at the moment. He isn't happy and has the world on his shoulders.

I am sure if Chelsea were to make a move for him, with the likes of JT, Lamps and Ashley Cole he would feel at home straight away and with Carlo's man management we could see him find his feet once more.

You never know a move down south for the Rooney's could be just what the doctor ordered on and off the pitch as Rooney looks to get his personal and footballing life back on track.

However, that's the question really. Would he want to leave up north where he has spent his life. It's a big ask to pack up everything and come down here. This is where City come in. There is no question if he does become available, they have the money and are based in the right area for Rooney to do a Tevez and move across town. Just ask Everton fans, it doesn't bother him moving from one rival to another.

Let's be serious for a second about all this and about who we are talking about. Wayne Rooney is world class. Would be a massive assest for anyone to have in their side and can change any game in an instant. Personal problems to one side which can be sorted out eventually (look at Ashley Cole this season as an example) I believe he can regain his form and get better and better as he reaches the prime of his career.

If Sir Alex and United choose to severe their ties with him I would love to see Chelsea make a move. It's whether or not he will leave and if he can resist the money and the locality of City that will go against us.

So I am asking the question to the Chelsea fans on here:
Should Chelsea try and sign Wayne Rooney?.
