Jaime Redknapp has called upon the England fans to lay off Ashley Cole as he can become England's most capped player of all time. He said:
“He (Ashley Cole) won’t win a popularity contest with David Beckham, but Ashley Cole might end up with more England caps than him. Last night was No 86 and who is about to stop him from winning more than 115? He’s a buccaneering full back and a genuine world class player.I think it's safe to say that you will never ever stop the boo-boys at Wembley or wherever England play and with Cole in the side. Of course alot of it stems from his behaviour off the pitch and sometimes his past attitude to referee's ( a la Spurs a few years back ) but I agree with Redknapp, he is world class and the best in the world in his position.
He’s some footballer... wonder if there will come a time when supporters will look beyond his faults and lay off the boos?”
It's just a shame in this country that football fans other than us here at Chelsea fail to appreciate exactly what we have, when we have it!.

The hate shown toward this great athlete is quite mind boggling!!! What i really don't understand is why the same thing doesn't happen to Wayne Rooney? he has been much much worse character off-field than ASH!...Rooney had carried multiple affairs with wide range of prostitutes, ranging from old granny prostitute to young ones, he disrespected England coach, abused ref multiple occasion, gave up on his team during the 2004 Euro which they could have won...yet Ash is still viewed as the worst character in the English team! why? are the boos influenced by race? why does the media(esp Daily Mail) keep on portraying Ash as the worst player off-field when there is Rooney on the same team?...
ReplyDeleteThe main difference between us and the reds is because we are the mighty blues, British media hates us and want to glorify at our expense. But we rarely give them that chance and thus they tend to pick on every single and minor things that we sometimes do not so rightly. Ashley wouldn't be made this bad had he been a manure player, i can bet my arse on this!
ReplyDeleteHaving said that we are the Chelsea and media is just jealous of our success! Ashley seems to love being booed, it adds charm to his performance. Remember his great assist against the arse-anal? Without the booing, he wouldn't have enjoyed his contribution so much. The people who boo get spanked doubly by Ashley's ever great performance!
