The Chelsea Daily Drivel

The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....

So here are the Chelsea news updates on Monday 30th August 2010 including: Di Santo deal nearly complete? Carlo Ancelotti on Chelsea's performances so far and Florent Malouda's early season's form and the Press speculate once more about Jack Rodwell.

First today to Franco Di Santo. It looks now, after plenty of speculation about the player during the summer and the beginning of the new season, that a deal reportedly worth £2m is about to be completed by Wigan. Nothing has been confirmed officially from Chelsea but this one is all over the press this morning.

Im afraid to say that Di Santo is another of our youngsters who looks as though has failed to make the grade at the club. There hasn't really been anyone who has come through and established themselves up till now. Its a shame really cause Di Santo has a natural eye for goal and I believe along with Scott Sinclair, once they play regular first team football, they will develop and become good footballers.

More to follow on Di Santo before the deadline tomorrow.

Now to Carlo Ancelotti and he has spoken of our impressive start to the season so far and in particular Florent Malouda. He said:
“I enjoy watching them, With the ball we have skills, but without the ball we are very dangerous. We are playing good football, but you can’t just look at the team in one way. We are a physical team, it was a physical match, and we were ready for that.

“He [Malouda] is one of our best players right now, He wanted to improve on his poor performance in the World Cup. He was angry. Maybe hungry as well.”

I think it comes as no surprise that Ancelotti singled out Malouda as he has played really well scoring goals. He has scored in every game so far and will be looking to continue his good form. There is no question he has been one of our best players.

Finally today to Everton's Jack Rodwell. Even though Carlo Ancelotti spoke the other day and said that as far as he was concerned the transfer window is already shut for Chelsea, it seems that the press are having none of it. This morning with reports Sir Alex Ferguson is preparing a bid of £10m, Chelsea have been dragged into the scenario.

Sportingo are reporting that Chelsea will respond to any move made by Ferguson because,
The Blues will be keen not to let a young talent, seemingly destined for great things, join their biggest rivals without putting up a fight though it is likely they will offer a straight cash deal to Everton.
I can't see it to be honest and they are clutching at straws if you ask me. Expect Rodwell to stay at Everton as I can't see David Moyes wanting to lose another one of his hot prospects to Manchester United once again after what happened with Wayne Rooney!.
